Breast Reduction is a technique that allows the reducing of over size breasts, to diminish the weight and for women who are looking for physical relief from pain and discomfort.
Breast Reduction is best suited to women whose breasts have reached full development seeking relief from pain and discomfort, woman who have suffered an increase in breast size after menopause and women whose breasts have lost their shape and have been stretched.
Why this intervention?
Women with very large, often pendulous breasts are candidates for a breast reduction. We call the condition of very large breasts "gigantomastia." Medical complaints of women with gigantomastia include:
Pain - Of the back, neck, shoulders, and breasts themselves.
Headaches - From neck strain secondary to the weight.
Stretching and thinning of the breast skin - Traction of gravity eventually stretches breast skin making it thin and fragile.
Numbness - Skin stretching can cause loss of skin sensitivity.
Grooving of shoulders - Where bra straps cut in from supporting the breasts; may cause permanent skin discoloration in the grooves.
Arthritic changes - Of the neck and upper back.
Difficulty breathing - The weight of large breasts can be a lot of work for an older person with existing heart or lungs problems.
Poor posture - Caused by the breast weight, with rounding of shoulders.
Rashes, skin inflammation, & irritation beneath the breasts - Drooping breast skin resting against skin of upper abdomen creates perspiration, bacterial growth, irritation; worse during warm weather.
Technique
The types of incisions to reduce the breasts can vary depending on the size and shape removing excess breast tissue, fat and skin. The areolas and nipples always remain united to the mammary gland preserving the sensitivity, and the glandular function (lactation) in most of the cases.
The Procedure
The procedure usually takes about three hours, depending on breast volume and the technique used. The procedure is generally performed under general anesthetic and usually requires over night stay in the medical facility.
What about the scars?
The incision is always made as short as possible. When the incision is vertical or in "anchor" shape, this remains visible, although specific techniques of minimization are used. It can take six to 12 months for the scare to fade and soften. Beyond this period the scar improves matching with the natural skin tone.
Are there side effects?
Although this operation does not usually encounter side effects, however, any type of side effect like haematoma can occur and your surgeon will discuss this with you in the first consultation.
The first consultation
With Beauty Renaissance the first consultation is free of charge and is always with your surgeon who will assess and discuss your desired results.

The reduction is effective from the first day of the intervention, but the final result does not consolidate until after three to eight months. The time requires the breasts to achieve its definitive shape.
